October 18, 2025 at 2:00pm and 7:30pm
at the Booth Playhouse at Blumenthal Arts
Director and Music Director: Zachary Tarlton
Choreographer: To Be Announced
Stage Manager: Andy Mueller
About the show:
Based on the Academy Award-winning film of the same name, ONCE, with music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, tells the story of a guy who gave up on love and music and the girl who inspired him to dream again. Featuring the Oscar-winning song “Falling Slowly,” plus other hit songs including “Gold” and “Leave,” ONCE takes us on a journey spanning one week and the unexpected friendship and collaboration that quickly evolves into a musically-charged and complicated love story.
Queen City Concerts invites the audience to be part of this production and will honor the original Broadway production by placing one of the actual bars for the show on stage. Be part of the action with the cast and get an up-close and personal look at the making of the music of ONCE as the actors become musicians to bring the score to life across the stage. With music at the central core of this story, it is no surprise that ONCE is the only piece of theatre to have music that won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, an Olivier Award, and a Tony Award.
This production is recommended for ages 12 and up and contains adult language and atmospheric haze.
ONCE is presented through special arrangement of Music Theatre International (MTI).
Seating Information:
ONCE will have traditional, reserved, traditional theatre seating. Patrons will have the option to visit the onstage bar prior to the performance.
