His story. His inspiration. His genius. SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM is a personal and intimate portrait of the life and legacy of “The Father of the Modern Musical,” Stephen Sondheim. Told through his own words and music, SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM features exclusive interview footage, giving audiences an inside look at the personal life and artistic process of the famed composer. The musical includes songs from his library of work, including INTO THE WOODS, FOLLIES, SWEENEY TODD, COMPANY and more!

As a celebration of Queen City Concerts on legacy, it is with great excitement that QCC presents SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM in the intimate Stage Door Theatre as the summer Gala Event production of 2026. Featuring the QCC orchestra and cast members from the QCC stage, this is an event not to be missed. 

Exclusive premium cabaret-style seating is available, along with traditional seating for this celebration of live theatre in the Queen City!

This production is recommended for ages 12 and up and contains mild adult language.

SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM is presented through special arrangement of Music Theatre International (MTI).

Seating Information:

SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM is our final production of the season in the Stage Door Theatre. The orchestra will be located both on and in front of the stage. Premium cabaret seating (tables) begins in Row B through Row D. Traditional theatre seating (on risers) begins in Row E and continues through Row L.
